Professor Tony Jan is an academic executive in artificial intelligence and digital engineering with over 25 years of leadership experience across the University of Technology Sydney, Melbourne Institute of Technology, and Torrens University Australia.
He has led large-scale technology and AI portfolios, consistently delivering growth to more than 2,000 students and A$30M in annual revenue while improving student outcomes and maintaining above–world-standard research performance.
His leadership integrates research, academic strategy, and industry-aligned curriculum design to strengthen institutional performance and prepare AI-ready graduates for a rapidly evolving digital industry.
Professor Jan has received multiple awards, including the SEI Global Academic Excellence Award (2024) and Torrens University Leadership Award (2022). A Fellow of Engineers Australia, he is recognised for building scalable, high-impact academic ecosystems that support institutional growth and academic excellence.
