Research Portfolio

Tony specialises in artificial intelligence and machine learning research, stemming from his pioneering work in probabilistic neural networks (PNN) and extending to federated machine learning, enabling distributed AI solutions in energy-depleted and resource-constrained edge environments.

His work focuses on advancing federated machine learning, exemplified by innovative applications in physics-informed AI, smart environments, IIoT security, and ambient intelligence modelling.

His research has been supported by ARC grants and industry awards, and has led to the supervision of more than 12 PhD graduates, many of whom have progressed to prominent roles in academia and industry. Tony is a frequent keynote speaker at leading machine learning conferences and a recipient of multiple internal and external research awards.
